Both the Arctic Winter Games ( AWG) and the Winter Olympic Games are important and international events for sports. But there are many differences between them.
First, where the participants come from is different. The Winter Olympic Games is for athletes from all over the world, while the AWG is for the northern and arctic athletes. So fewer countries participate in the AWG than in the Winter Olympic Games.
Second, the competitions are different. The AWG celebrates not only sports, but also social exchange and culture. The Winter Olympic Games feature winter sports held on snows or ice such as figure skating, cross-country skiing, bobsledding and ice hockey.
Finally, the frequency of the games is different. The AWG is held every two years, while the Winter Olympic Games happen every four years.
Although the two sport games have some differences, their main goals are to develop the sprit of sport all over the world.

An interesting field trip
Although the weather was very cold and we didn't have tickets to the ROM on Friday, we changed our plan to visit the Gardiner Museum and Bata Shoe Museum.
The Gardiner Museum is located across from the ROM. It was founded in 1984, and the collection was donated by George and Helen Gardiner. Today, the collection in the Gardiner Museum exceeds 3,000 historical and contemporary pieces, including ancient American vessels and porcelain of Asia and Europe.
We visited the Chinese porcelain exhibition, where the ceramics date to the Tang, Ming, and Qing Dynasty. According to the caption, the cobalt pigment was from Iran .

We also appreciated some western porcelain that was imitated Chinese porcelain. It was very fun!
After we had a break at Tim Hortons, we went to the Bata Shoe Museum. It is a special museum. It has collected 12,500 artifacts: African sandals, Chinese traditional shoes, western fashion shoes and so on, and it tells us the evolution of footwear and its symbolism through the ages.
We didn't have much time to appreciate each shoe in detail, including its time, its outstanding designs, its culture, its materials and its unusual shoemaking skills.
While some museums can help us to understand one country or one area's culture, special museums for ceramic art and shoe museum can help us to learn ceramic and footwear history and development. We can keep going back to learn more.

My first week at the new place
From November 23, 2009, our school moves a new place, 200 Consumers Rd. How is it different from the old school? Which is better?
Yesterday was our first day to study in new school. Our teacher Joseph took us to visit the new school after class. The new school has two floors: 4th floor and 9th floor. All of the classrooms locate at the 4th floor except level/5's classroom, which will be canceled and combined into level/4 from December 1, so the classrooms seem smaller than before. Although there are no blackboards for every classrooms temporarily and there is no coffee and hot water like before, and everything seems a mess, I think everything will be normal and better after some time. On the 6th floor, there is main computer lab and some special classrooms, such as the workplace room and offices. It is brighter and better than the 4th floor.
I think it is a good place for us to study English. The teacher is a guide like on a trip, and we are playing main role. I will speak actively in the classroom and read more books in order to enlarge my vocabulary.
To summarize, the government has supplied a good place and a good teacher to us. It is a waste to time and resources if we don't study hard.

Here, I would like to select following 5 facts: Firstly, KidSpark is a space specially designed for kids eight and under to enjoy with their parents or caregivers. You can experiment with a water table and bubble station, perform in a mini music studio and so on.
Secondly, IMAX Dome theatre is a fascinating place to see a movie.
Thirdly, the Science Arcade hall is full of puzzles, games, illusions, challenges and hands-on experiences that really make science fun!
Fourthly, the Living Earth hall is another interesting place, where you can wander through a real, live Rain Forest environment filled with plants and animals.
lastly the Human Body hall attract me to learn how my body works.
I hope Friday coming!

Yesterday, we went to the Roy Thomson Hall and attended a free organ performance featuring Frederic Champion. Frederic Champion is a famous organist. According to the programme notes, he has won many prizes at many important international organ competitions. It is a regret that I couldn't appreciate the performance because I didn't know the background and the content of the music. In fact, it is very difficult for me to understand classical music, especially about religion. Anyway I would like to thank my teacher Joseph because he introduced many buildings to us, which are all symbols of Toronto.

My ideal job in Canada
My ideal job is to be an accountant in a multinational company. It is a steady job, and with no relocation required. I would have a big room to work in with a good view from the windows. The company must offer good benefits and salary. There is two-to-three weeks' vacation a year. Everyone can be trained professionally every year. In the company, everyone is very nice and happy. All of us love the company as our home. That is my ideal job!

I LOVE LIFE
I love life. Everyday, I tell myself, "Life is good, I must smile at everyone even if I don't know them before." After my grandmother died, I knew life is limited and death come to anyone . you don't know when you will die, so you must love the time while you are alive; you don't know when you will leave those you love deeply, for example, your families, your friends, your teachers and so on. So you must love them and care them while you are alive. Why do we very be angry sometimes? Why can't we smile at everyone? Why can't we say " I love you" to our kids or our spouse? It's regrettable that we can't do that once a day.
